Import Data - Fix Data

Go back to Import Data

When a list is analyzed, the system tries to determine which data is good and which is bad, flagging the rows which appear to have problems. Some bad data is easy to identify, such as a birthdate of 1990-01-32 (January 32nd, 1990).

After your uploaded data has been analyzed, you will have to go into FIX DATA if any problems were detected. You should be aware that this is not a foolproof process. It is certainly possible for bad data to not be detected as such by the analysis process. Bad information likely to go undetected include misspelled names. Even if your data appears to be 100% good, it's a good idea to go into FIX DATA and take a look, and why it is important that the initial lists are verified and checked well. Do not rely on the system to correctly identify all bad data. There is plenty that can be wrong with the data (including district names, poll numbers, house numbers, city names etc.) that the system may not identify as wrong.

Using the radio buttons and filter button you may choose to see all items from an uploaded list or only those items which are "good" (no problems detected), "bad" (problems detected), or modified.

You may modifiy the data on any row, even if no problems had been detected.

When one or more problems are found on a line, in addition to there being a red circle with an X next to it, the items where a problem was detected are noted with a red square around the data.

For information concerning what the formats of the data should be for the electoral and voted lists you should refer to the Import Data page.

Once any data has been modified, you will have to analyze the data again. You can click on the Import Data link to return to the Import Data page from where you can start the data anlysis again.
